Social media is becoming increasingly powerful in our society. Your future classes will expect you to interact on the internet if they have not already. With this in mind, we will use Blogger to keep track of outside reading for this book. For this assignment you should create blog entries describing your reactions to your outside reading book. There will be one due for each half of the book. (Two total, if you are counting!)

You should—
·     focus on your response as a reader and not on plot summary.
·     use specific details and short quotes from the book to support your opinion.
·     include page numbers
·      create responses that are at least seven well-developed sentences.
·     discuss literary elements (conflict, setting, characterization, irony, foreshadowing etc.)

I Swear
By: Lane Davis
Pages:108-162

As the book goes on, the storyline gets more and more interesting. There are more points of rising action that lead to the climax of the book. For example, on page 155, when this girl named Beth and Macie are fighting about Leslie Gatlin's death, "I stood up and wiped my nose with the back of my hand. 'You two will never get away with this,' I said softly. Macie laughed. 'Oh dear, sweet Beth. We already have.'" At this point in the book some people are starting to suspect who may have influenced Leslie's suicide. In this situation, Beth is accusing Macie and her friend of not directly killing Leslie, but bullying her to an extreme level that it would make Leslie feel very depressed. Beth knows that Macie;s intentions were to kill Leslie, but I don't think that Macie will never admit to that because her character is someone who is very controlling and always makes sure that everything is her way. This book is becoming better and better as I keep reading. It's all about rumors, secrets and lies which adds so much more exciting drama to the story. I hope that the end of the book will live up to my expectations.

My book, Waiting for You, is about high school and friendships as well. My book has friendships breaking and rumors and lies spreading, which create a whole mess between girls as does your book. Your book sounds very good and I would love to read it and compare the similarities it shares to my book, even though I can tell it has several already.
